Ahead of my talk at I Can Do It in Phoenix next month, I wanted to start exploring some ideas around Goddesses, astrology and Moonology …
So here are 5 things you might not know about Goddesses, astrology and Moonology — but which could really light you up if you’re on the Goddess path!
1. Many Goddesses have an astrological counterpart which embodies their energies. To use the most obvious example, the ancient Greek Goddess Venus Aphrodite is matched with the planet of love and abundance Venus. (But ftr, so is Divine Hindu Goddess Lakshmi…!)
2. The concept of the Triple Goddess—representing the maiden, mother, and crone—parallels the Moon’s phases, illustrating the cyclical nature of life and the feminine divine in astrology. You could most easily compare this triple Goddess paradigm with the Waxing Cycle, the Full Moon, and the Waning Cycle…
3. Did you know that Lilith, often referred to as the Dark Moon or Black Moon in astrology, embodies the raw and untamed aspects of femininity, challenging traditional views by representing freedom, sexuality, and the refusal to submit, linking her to the powerful and often misunderstood energy of the divine feminine.
4. In Vedic astrology, goddesses like Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Parvati play crucial roles, each symbolizing aspects of wisdom, wealth, and power that influence horoscopic interpretations.
5. The asteroid goddesses—Ceres, Pallas, Juno, and Vesta—in Western astrology are considered to carry feminine energies into the natal chart, each representing a unique dimension of female wisdom and strength overlooked in traditional planetary roles.
There is SO much to say about all of this and if you’re anything like me, it’s just such a LUSH topic that I want to know more and more about.
Quite honestly, to understand all of it is impossible, even if you live for 1000 years. But we all have to start somewhere, right?
