I just saw a Rewilding For Women Instagram post that says…
“She looked at her old life one last time, took a deep breath and gently said to herself; It’s time. I’m ready for my new story to begin…”
Which REALLY reminded me of the Mercury/Chiron conjunction coming up.
What does Mercury/Chiron offer us?
The chance to heal your mind. The chance for a healing conversation, the chance to mend an upset. The chance to move on with your life, no matter what has happened.
Because healing – especially emotional healing – often happens when we decide we want to heal.
Have you ever heard of post-traumatic growth?
Post-traumatic growth (PTG) is a theory that explains transformation following trauma. It was developed by psychologists Richard Tedeschi, PhD, and Lawrence Calhoun, PhD, in the mid-1990s, and holds that people who endure psychological struggle following adversity can often see positive growth afterward.
“People develop new understandings of themselves, the world they live in, how to relate to other people, the kind of future they might have and a better understanding of how to live life,” says Tedeschi. (American Psychological Association)
And that is something on offer now, if you feel ready for it.
Now is the time to move on from trauma if you can, as we get this once every 12 months alignment between Mercury and Chiron.
It’s a chance to ease troubled minds. To move on from pain, be it emotional, spiritual, mental or otherwise. It’s a chance to reset your mindset and start over.
To evaluate whether and to what extent someone has achieved growth after a trauma, psychologists use a variety of self-report scales. One that was developed by Tedeschi and Calhoun is the Post-Traumatic Growth Inventory (PTGI) (Journal of Traumatic Stress, 1996). It looks for positive responses in five areas:
Appreciation of life.
Relationships with others.
New possibilities in life.
Personal strength.
Spiritual change.
And the coming few days are all about a portal opening up so that we have the chance to decide to move into healing.
You may be ready.
You may not be.
Only you know.
And if you’re not sure, you can test the waters.
