Appearances matter. And you may well be thinking that yours is sadly out of date, maybe even a little on the shabby side. But it’s more than whether you’ve got the right shoes on with that outfit, or if purple is the new black. Unless the person you’re projecting is the person you want to be, you’re reducing the chances of attracting the right people into your life – right for you, that is.
You can’t change yourself overnight, and there’s no point in trying. But until mid-November you’ll see plenty of opportunities to change your image, whether it’s updating your wardrobe, losing or putting on a bit of weight, or simply greeting everyone with a smile when you first meet them. Even the tiniest things can make a difference.
Talking things over with other people can help. You don’t have to agree with everyone, but once you’ve gathered plenty of opinions, you’ll have a better idea which direction you want to go in. Just try to restrict yourself to one or two ideas at a time. The trouble with asking people for opinions is that everyone’s got one – and they won’t all work for you.
Some people just have to be right, so if they get a bit insistent mid-month that you should do things their way because there’s no other way worth considering, just thank them nicely and make up your own mind.
Taking your time in making decisions comes naturally to you as October closes, anyway.
It might be that in ringing the changes, you’re feeling out of step with the world. What about if you’ve got it wrong? Don’t worry. Sometimes you need to try things out before you know if they’ll suit you. And there really is no mad rush, even if it seems like it. Thinking about what has and hasn’t worked for you in the past can help, but on balance you don’t have to make any final changes until you’re good and ready.
