The Moon has long fascinated us, inspiring poets, artists, and even scientists.
Its gentle flow and glow, its waxing and waning, has been the subject of countless, beautiful stories and myths.
Women especially relate!
But beyond its mystical allure, the Moon is a super powerful force that we can tap into on our life journey every month.
As we move towards the end of the lunar cycle now, for example, we find ourselves at the Last Quarter Moon, a crucial moment in the Moon’s monthly journey.
The Last Quarter Moon occurs roughly one week after the Full Moon and a week before the next New Moon.
It marks the middle of the Moon’s waning phase.
At this point, the Moon is half-illuminated and often visible in the sky during the morning hours.
The Last Quarter Moon is a time of reflection and reassessment, a time to look back on the intentions set during the New Moon and evaluate what has been achieved so far.
Also think about what you said you were letting go at Full Moon. How are you doing with that?
It’s a time to take stock of our progress, acknowledge what needs to change, and prepare for the next cycle.
The energy of the Last Quarter Moon is often described as one of letting go and releasing.
It’s a time to shed old patterns and beliefs that no longer serve us, to declutter our lives, and to make space for new beginnings.
This phase of the lunar cycle can be challenging, as we confront our fears and doubts, but it’s also an opportunity for growth and transformation.
It’s especially important to work with now as it’s the Last Quarter Moon before the New Moon eclipse on April 20.
One way to work with the energy of the Last Quarter Moon is to engage in journaling or meditation.
Taking time to reflect on what has transpired since the New Moon, and how we can move forward, can be a powerful tool for self-discovery and self-improvement.
Starting to think about the intentions you will be setting at the time of the New Moon eclipse is also a great idea; as we focus on what we want to achieve and manifest in our lives, so we unconsciously start to take action that supports us in achieving our goals.
Another way to honor the Last Quarter Moon is to engage in ritual or ceremony.
This can be as simple as lighting a candle or as elaborate as holding a Moon circle with friends.
Whatever the form, ritual and ceremony can help us connect with the moon’s energy and tap into our inner wisdom.
As we approach the end of the lunar cycle and the Last Quarter Moon, let’s all take the time to pause, reflect, and release.
Let us shed what no longer serves us and make way for new beginnings.
And as the Moon continues on her journey, let’s follow her lead and embrace the ever-changing cycles of life.
