The picture at the top of this post is of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, where I grew up. It was a pretty great place to do that … and today I wanted to talk about something that happened to me as a 14 year old in Hobart.
I was in my bunk bed, reading The Way, which is an easy-to-read, but full-length version of the Bible. I don’t really remember why, but I’d decided to read the New Testament from cover to cover.
I had got to the gospel of Mark and I was ABSOLUTELY stopped in my tracks.
There it said in black and white:
Jesus said: “I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.”
And I was like WTF?!?!?
I read it again. Did it mean that if I believed in God that I would receive it? No. It. Did. Not. It said that if I believed that I have already received whatever I was praying for, I would receive it.
I didn’t know it, but that was the first time I had ever heard of what so many of us now call The Law of Attraction, right?
But wait, because there was another line…
[Jesus continued,] “But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.”
WHAT?
Oh.
OK.
Which I believe is why, when I came to write my book MOONOLOGY about decades later, I knew that I had to include forgiveness.
And I knew, by then, from my time in India and from basic astrology and psychology, that THE time for forgiveness is every day but if you can’t do it every day, do it at Full Moon, which is when all our emotions come up, all the better for us to access, process and release them.
And that will mean we can manifest whatever we want at the New Moon two weeks later – as long as we believe that we can.
