When I started with astrology, I had no idea it was SUCH a many-faceted subject.
I kind of thought that an astrologer is an astrologer is an astrologer.
20 years on, though, I know that is NOT the case.
There are so many different types of astrology – and I would argue they are all as good as each other. Here are a few of them…
Traditional astrologers look to the past…
Some astrologers, for example are all about the history of this amazing subject. They delve as far back as they can go back to literally little fragments of papyrus to try and decode the earliest origins of astrology which is more than 2000 years old. I have even heard of one astrologer who taught himself ancient Greek so he could work with ancient Greek texts!
Some astrologers make magic…
As my astrological studies continued, I was fascinated to learn about the the astrologers of the past who mainly used their stargazer knowledge for making magic – they would use the Sun, Moon and stars to time their magic-making, for example making love magic on a Friday which is Venus’s day, or creating a magical charm on the day tat Venus meet Jupiter. Sounded so exciting!
Some astrologers j ust seek to understand character…
Then we have the astrologers who are not about any of this at all. In fact, quite the opposite. They are less interested in making predictions or magic and more interested in using astrology as a tool to understand the human psyche. They use the planets, angles and aspects in a chart more to understand why people are they way they are and less to ask what’s going to happen next.
And some use astrology as a sacred mandala…
And then we have the people who mix astrology and New Age ideas. These are the people who love to work with Angels and/or Goddesses and want to use astrology as a way to connect with the Divine. These astrologers make predictions but they totally understand that the law of attraction is also at play and seek to understand how to use astrology as a way to steer through life…
